We have worked on a wide variety of historic preservation projects. One of our favorite projects was the conversion of a 1920’s-era bank into an upscale 11-story, 106-unit apartment building in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.  We have also performed restorations for multiple West Tennessee downtown squares.  Standard Builders succeeds with property renewal efforts by adding modern utilities and finishes while retaining each property’s unique, vintage features – even when significant demolition and modifications are required.

On another 1920’s-era bank building in downtown Memphis, we used our creative expertise to highlight features from multiple decades while also giving the building some much needed natural light by cutting a center atrium through all 12 floors.  We also converted the remaining space into luxury apartments with modern kitchens and bathrooms, built a penthouse suite, and added a rooftop deck, fitness room, multi-media room, interior common areas, and meeting spaces.  We even refurbished the concrete parking garage for a successful full property renovation.

"The Tower involved the renovation of a 1925 iconic building into upscale "loft" apartments. Standard Builders was awarded the contract for the build out. The PM for this project was Brian Dubose, and in my opinion, he is the best PM in the business. His grace under fire and ability to meet a finish schedule are unmatched in this industry.  Everyone on the Standard team was wonderful to work with, plus we received an amazing end product. A winning combination every time!!"
